Countries that You can visit, drive to or through, with any ALBARENT's rental vehicle without visas:
Group 1. Bosnia-Hercegovina, Haiti, Chile, Kosova, Malaysia, FYROM (Macedonia), Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ecuador, Israel, South Corea, Croatia, Montenegro, Singapor, Trinidad Tobago (these Countries can be visited also with the ordinary non-biometric passport). The documentation needed for travel with rental vehicle into these countries (Group 1): 1) Valid Passport for the driver and all passengers on board. 2) Valid vehicle documents such as, vehicle's international circulation permit (offered by ALBARENT by request), international driver's licence and the vehicle's foreign insurance green card (to be purchased by the client at any border before exiting Albania (better be sure when insurance desks are opened at border areas or ask for it/buy it at ALBARENT offices)!).
Group 2. Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Cyprus, Cech Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Netherland, Island, Letonia/Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakya, Spain, Switzerland (these Countries can be visited only with new biometric passports). The documentation needed for travel with rental vehicle into these countries (Group 2): 1) Valid New Biometric Passport for the driver and all passengers on board. 2) Hotel booking document / prepaid accomodation / correct host address in the visiting Country. 3) Return prepaid ticket/s if travelling by sea lines or crafts. 4) Valid for stay abroad time or travel time personal health insurance for driver and all passengers on board (to be purchased by the client at any border before exiting Albania or at ALBARENT offices!) 5) Valid vehicle documents such as, vehicle's international circulation permit (offered by ALBARENT by request), international driver's licence and the vehicle's foreign insurance green card (to be purchased by the client at any border before exiting Albania (better be sure when insurance desks are opened at border areas or ask for it/buy it at ALBARENT offices)!).
WARNING: To visit or enter or pass/drive to/through any other Country that it is not included in the Group 1 and Group 2 Countries list You (driver and all passengers on board) need a valid VISA!
Depending on availability, the vehicle can be rented without a prior reservation. Usually a reservation is necessary and required and can be performed as follows: 1. On-line through the direct application on ALBARENT’s web page, www.albarent.al. In this case, the applicant will be notified by ALBARENT’s operators about the economic offer as well as the availability of vehicles. 2. By telephone, mobile or fax, as well as straight to our offices through a direct communication. The vehicle that you rent is considered reserved only when at least 20% of the rent price is paid in advance. In case of cancellation of the reservation, ALBARENT returns the full amount of the reservation only when notified at least 15 days prior to the reservation date. After this period (less than 15 days prior to the reservation date) ALBARENT collects/cashes the money that has been paid in advance. Down deposits/advances for reservations are accepted in all forms of payments. In cases of credit card payments, ALBARENT is legally responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the information/data on the card, as well as conducting the proper banking operations, according to the rental contract.
Prices: The price of rent is per day (daily) on short-term rentals and monthly for long-term rentals. The price is variable and negotiable depending on: 1. Vehicle category. (Economic category, Premium category, 4X4 category, 4X4 luxury category, luxury category as well as the Van/Minivan/Minibus/Bus category). 2. Rent duration. The price gets reduced in accordance with the rent extension in time. 3. Itinerary. For long distances or difficult roads/routes, higher prices are applied. 4. Renters. For the renters of the “White List” 1, prices are moderate. 5. Season. During high season (May 15th – September 15th, December 15th – January 15th) prices are 10% higher. 6. Offers. In cases of religious periods and holidays such as Easter, Christmas, Ramadan, or during National Holidays and New Year, offers with special prices can be applied.
Vehicle insurance: The daily rental price includes the compulsory insurance (TPL) as well as the FULL COVERAGE CASCO (CDW + TP), which covers from 70% up to 90% of the damage value. The value of the damages that is not covered by the insurance policies is paid fully by the renter. ALBARENT practices the use of the security deposit in case of finding out about infringement (violation of road signs and regulations) or damages on the vehicle and its equipments during the rent/contract period, as well as for the full or partial coverage of the repair costs or necessary changes that have been made. In the absence of violations or damages, the security deposit is returned fully to the renter. The amount of the deposit depends on the value of the vehicle itself and on the renter’s CV related to ALBARENT.
WARNING! FULL COVERAGE CASCO does not cover: 1. Tire damages, (minced, burnout of tires while the car is standing still, or rather starting the car with gliding or braking with the emergency/handbrake), wheel discs (pressure, knocks, scratches, loss of the bolt and bolt lid, damages or loss of the tire caps of the wheels and damages on the chassis (since any damages on it can be done only from driver’s negligence and carelessness). 2. Engine damages and oil or gasoline pump damages, as a result of bad fuel. 3. Damages on the clutch group, (manual or automatic), clutch pump, clutch disc or specidisk, clutch bearing. 4. Damages incurred by the drivers under the influence of alcohol or various drugs. 5. Damage incurred inside the cabin of the vehicle. 6. Damages incurred in the cabin of the vehicle (inside the car) since they are considered intentional or a result of the renter’s negligence. 7. Damages caused by explosions, arson, explosives, or from burning the interior seating of the vehicle. 8. Damages caused by unauthorized users from ALBARENT to use the vehicle. 9. Loss of keys or original documents of the vehicle. 10. Loss of any valuable in the cabin of the vehicle.
Payment: The price of rent is paid in advance. Payments can be made with cash money on hand at ALBARENT’s cashier, credit cards, through ALBARENT’s bank accounts in EURO, LEK, or other convertible currencies (using Albania's National Bank exchange rate of the day).
Renter’s Responsibilities: The Albanian legislation imposes the renter with the legal responsibility of not using the rented vehicle for transportation of passengers or goods (cargo), of not subletting the vehicle, and not pulling over vehicles or other items without written authorization of the owner of the vehicle (ALBARENT). The rented vehicle should not be used for racing, illegal purposes, carelessly, or driven by other persons without written authorization from the owner of the vehicle (ALBARENT) and not load the vehicle with passengers or items above its carrying capacity. The renter is fully responsible for goods that can be found or that have been left in the vehicle during or at the end of the rent period. The legal consequences that arise from the actions or inactions performed by the renter, with or without the vehicle of ALBARENT, during the rent period, are an exclusive, civil and/or penal responsibility of the renter. In case of an accident, the renter is obliged not to move the vehicle from the scene of the accident, to write down the license plate number of the other vehicle if the other vehicle leaves the scene, to immediately notify the police and the owner of the vehicle (ALBARENT), to describe the incident, and to fill out the required/necessary documents (standard forms).
Eligible to rent vehicles from ALBARENT’s fleet are the drivers of automobiles with the below licenses and ages: 1. For vehicles of category ECONOMIC VEHICLES – 18 or over 18 years old. 2. For vehicles of category PREMIUM VEHICLES – 20 or over 20 years old and 2 years of driving experience. 3. For vehicles of category 4X4 VEHICLES – over 23 years old and 3 years of driving experience. 4. For vehicles of category LUXURY VEHICLES and 4X4 LUXURY VEHICLES – over 25 years old and 5 years of driving experience. 5. For vehicles of category MINIVAN VEHICLES up to 8+1 seats – over 27 years old and 7 years of driving experience. 6. For vehicles of category MINIBUS VEHICLES over 8+1 seats – over 30 years old and relevant driving license (C-D).
Prohibitions: 1. Driving of the vehicle by persons under 18 years old and over 70 years old. 2. Driving of the vehicle from individuals that have physical disabilities that may affect driving. 3. Driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and narcotic substances, or when not in a good physical condition. 4. Smoking inside the vehicle. 5. Driving of the vehicle by unauthorized persons: In exceptional cases, such as illness, trauma, disasters, the renter is obliged to notify ALBARENT, and act according to its (ALBARENT’s) guidelines. 6. Renting vehicles or providing them for use to persons from the “Black List” 2.
Offences and penalties/tickets: 1. The renter repays for the full value of all the damages that are not covered by the insurance policies as well as for those damages that are not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty of the vehicle (when the vehicle is still under the warranty) 2. The renter is fined with half the value of the total rent cost if he allows unauthorized persons driving the vehicle (these authorizations need to be in a written form by the owner of the vehicle, ALBARENT), and with the full value of the rent cost (total rent value) if he permits driving of the vehicle by unauthorized persons from the Black List. In this case, he gets immediately added to the Black List himself. 3. The renter pays for the total value of all the tickets/fines received during the rent period (contract) if he declares or redeems them himself, and three (3) times the value of all the tickets/fines, in case of withholding and hiding them. 4. The renter pays a 10 to 20 EURO fine for each hour of delay, up to the full value of the daily rent price of the aforementioned rented vehicle. In cases of more than 6 hours of delay, without notifying the owner (ALBARENT), the renter and the vehicle are declared wanted. 5. The renter pays a 5 EURO fine if the vehicle is returned dirty and not washed in and out. 6. The renter pays a 1.3 EURO fine for each liter of fuel returned less than what it was taken over. 7. The renter pays a 0.3 to 1 EURO fine for each kilometer over the limit specified and predefined in the contract (by categories). 8. The renter pays a 50 EURO fine if it allows smoking in the vehicle or if ALBARENT notices there has been smoking in the vehicle. 9. The renter pays a 40 Euro fine if it doesn’t provide proof through receipts that the purchase of fuel has been only at ALPET’s gas stations. 10. The renter pays 2% of the value of the rent price, as interest, for each day of delayed payment of damages or other fines/penalties. 11. The renter pays a 130 EURO fine if he loses the vehicle key, as well as redeems 100% of the installation value of the new codes, the lock, starting key, remote controls, which are all purchased and assembled by authorized vendors from the vehicle’s manufacturer.
Receiving of the vehicle from the renter: After signing the contract in the presence of both parties, a thorough check is conducted and a record sheet (confirmation) is composed, for taking over of the vehicle by the renter, which is signed by both parties, recording: 1. All the existing damages of the vehicle 2. Inventory of aid tools 3. Fuel situation 4. Kilometers done/on The renter is presented with the vehicle and its technical characteristics. The renter receives the vehicle and all its necessary and required documentation for circulation, as well as an authorization to use and operate the vehicle (1 – 2 drivers depending on the request) at home and/or abroad.
The return of the vehicle by the renter: The vehicle gets returned washed inside and outside. The ALBARENT’s operator or representative thoroughly checks the vehicle, from the outside, inside, below, the engine, generic parts, technical and mechanical, every vehicle accessory, the spare tire, the trunk, the brakes, etc. Once ALBARENT’s authorized operator confirms that the vehicle has been returned correctly, the renter will receive the full amount of the prepaid deposit (guarantee).
The basic conditions of return: 1. Tires should be in a good condition and unchanged (the product code should be the same with that registered and recorded by ALBARENT). 2. The vehicle gets returned in the same condition as received by the renter, as it is explained and described on the record sheet (confirmation) at the time of the takeover of the vehicle by the renter.
Rent with personal driver (DRIVEN RENTALS): This service consists of a common rental of a vehicle, but with a driver. The rent could be by day, hourly, or for a specified itinerary. Rent by day: Above the displayed price of the daily rent of the respective vehicle (see our prices), the following will be applied for the driver: 1. a fee of 25 Euro/day, for 8 hours 2. a fee of 40 Euro/day, for over 8 hours 3. a fee of 65 Euro/day, if spending the night outside Tirana 4. a supplement of 20% on top of the above tariffs, for drivers with foreign languages communication skills. Rent with a set itinerary: In this case, the price of rent includes the driver’s fee and fuel expenses: 1. Within Tirana, 30 – 50% of the daily rental price (no more than 20 km, up to 5 hours). 2. Up to 45 km from Tirana, 40 – 60% of the daily rental price. (Rinas, Durrësi, Kruja, etc, up to 5 hours). 3. Up to 100 km from Tirana, 50 – 70% of the daily rental price. (Shkodra, Fier, etc., up to 5 hours). 4. Over 100 km from Tirana, 0.3 – 0.8 Euro/km, depending on the vehicle category (up to 6 hours).
Sending and receiving the vehicle at a specified address: For sending and receiving the vehicle of ALBARENT at the address requested by the client, ALBARENT implements the below tariffs/fees: 1. Within Tirana, 5 – 10 Euro. 2. Up to 45 km from Tirana, 15 – 20 Euro. 3. Up to 100 km from Tirana, 30 Euro. 4. Over 100 km from Tirana, 0.3 Euro/km.
Services and other offers: 1. Special chairs for children depending on age (only by request): daily fee - 3 EURO 2. Snow chains in case of snow: daily fee - 3 EURO 3. Portable navigators (TOM-TOM or other models with updated maps of Europe): daily fee – 10 EURO 4. Mobile phone with a rechargeable SIM card: daily fee - 5 EURO 5. Car top carriers for extra luggage transportation: daily fee – 10 EURO:
Fuel Regulation: The vehicle is taken and returned on a full tank of gas/fuel.
Legal obligations, protocols and procedures: 1. ALBARENT holds a photocopy of the renter’s passport or ID card, as well as a copy of the Driver’s License of any other authorized driver. 2. The renter is solely responsible for all the offenses and road violations committed, and for the fines/tickets received for disobeying traffic rules, within the Albanian territory or abroad, as well as for any other violation committed against the rules, laws, and regulations of the territory where the vehicle circulates. 3. ALBARENT examines at the end of each business day, the State Police database for the Albanian territory, the European Union database for the territory of EU country members and other countries in Europe, to determine whether there are any fines or administrative measures for ALBARENT’s vehicles in use by the clients. 4. In the case of deposits or the information obtained from Credit Cards (checked if they are functional and have monetary value on them) that are kept from the client before receiving the vehicle, ALBARENT holds directly the value of the damages, the penalties, the interests, and any other outstanding liabilities not paid by the client. Data confidentiality is fully guaranteed. 5. In case of an accident, after notifying the Police, the renter should immediately notify ALBARENT’s representatives, to give the full details of the incident.
Personal items and liability: Under no circumstances is the owner (ALBARENT) responsible for items or commodities/goods that can be found or have been left in the vehicle during or at the end of the rent period (contract). Legal consequences arising out of the actions or the inactions committed by the renter, with or without the vehicle of the owner (ALBARENT), during the rent period, are an exclusive, civil and/or penal responsibility of the renter.
